Egg drop soup is a simple soup and is considered as a Chinese Comfort Food.

If you are preparing the soup for someone who is ill, try adding some fresh ginger. Among its many benefits, ginger is believed to be a remedy for treating colds and flu.

Serves: 1 INGREDIENTS

  • 1½ CUPS CHICKEN OR VEGETABLE STOCK

  • ½ TSP BLACK PEPPER (kali mirch)

  • ½ TSP CORN STRACH

  • 1 EGG

  • 1 TBSP CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Take a pot and add stock and boil it.

  • Add salt and pepper

  • Combine 3-4 tbsp of cold water and mix cornstarch

  • Add this mixture in pot slowly

  • Beat egg well in a separate bowl

  • Turn off the gas and using strainer or fork drop the egg in to the pot

  • Add coriander to garnish

QUICK TIPS

  • If you don’t want a thick soup, corn starch can be avoided

  • Make sure to use fork or strainer else it will make lumps of egg in the soup

  • Always use cold water to mix cornstarch else lumps will be there and mix well before adding it in the pot.
